Exploring Tropic Winds RV Resort in Harlingen, Texas

Eric & I arrived at Tropic Winds
on a cold rainy day.

I updated the picture to show
a warm sunny day.

After an unseasonable snow storm, the sun came out and I went for a walk around this 500 plus site RV Resort.

The Main Hall is the
"hub" of the Resort.

RVers staying one month or
longer receive their mail
here.

Resort & Community information
is posted.

There are sign up sheets for
numerous activities here.

The recent Craft Fair is one
of the many events held at
the Main Hall.

Tropic Winds hosted
 local school children
 for a Christmas
Party.

Washing Machines & Dryers
take quarters & credit cards.
There are other buildings to devoted to different activities.

Friendship Hall...

... has an area set up for
doing jigsaw puzzles.

Tables are set up for
card games.

Readers have a lot to
browse at the library.

Veterans Hall...

... honors those who served
in the US Armed Forces.

Shuffleboard anyone?

Pool Tables wait for
players to run racks
of balls.

The Workout Area

The Workshop Club has space
in the Maintenance Building.

Nuts, bolts, screws, hand tools
& power tools are available
for woodworking projects.

I signed up and am looking for instructions for my first project.  Pics to follow...

The Swimming Pool &
Hot Tub

The Horseshoe Pits

The Bocce Ball Courts are just to the left of the Horseshoe Pits.

Shuffleboard players are
shaded while they play.

Pickleball games are
in full swing.

Barbecues are held
at the Pavilion.

The Remote Control Car Track is drying out.
I expect to see cars running heats soon.

It's a beautiful day....

An enclosed Dog Park for
dogs of all sizes to work
off some of their energy.

Park Models are mixed in
with RVs at this Resort.

One of the homes at
Tropic Winds.

Homes are built on leased land at this Resort.  Modifications to homes must be approved by the Resort.

This tiny Casita Camping
Trailer is parked across the
street from a home that is
16 feet by 70 feet.

This is my favorite home
at Tropic Winds.

This Park Model is
for sale.

This weekend there is a contest
for best decorated home at
Tropic Winds.

There will also be an award for best decorated RV and best decorated Golf Cart.  There will be Christmas Caroling throughout the Resort.  "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...."
