Storrowton Village at The Big E

After creating a temporary 19th century kitchen for the 1926 Exposition, Trustee Helen Storrow saw the need to create permanent buildings to promote Home Department programs.  She gathered funds and found buildings to bring her goal to life.  Each building was carefully dismantled; each part labeled; moved to The Big E; and reconstructed.  It is the site of programs showing village life in 19th century New England.  Regularly scheduled tours of Storrowton Village are led by docents dressed in 19th century clothing.
