The Drive to Los Alamos, New Mexico

Eric fills up the Jeep
with $1.95 per gallon
gas.

The mountains are covered
with trees in New York State.

I love the exposed rock
formations in the Southwest.

The view from the Senator Clinton P. Anderson
scenic route.

The pull off is strategically
located for photos.

Los Alamos has a population
of 17,599.

Elevation: 7,324 feet above
sea level.

Los Alamos is one of New Mexico's newest towns.  In 1942, the site of a boys school became headquarters for the Manhattan Project and the creation of the atomic bomb.
