Walking Around Downtown Forest City, Iowa

Eric drove me around Forest City when we visited in July, 2013 because I had a broken ankle.  I am looking forward to a closer look at the city during our morning walk.

I love the details of this
building...

The tile topped turret with
finials; brickwork arches;
rusticated stonework

others on Clark Street are

revitalization program.

The artwork, donated by artists Steve Johnson and Sinnwell are made out of old bike parts.  Bicyclists are welcome to park their bikes here and explore Forest City on foot.

City Hall is listed on the
Register of Historic Places.

I love the ornamentation on
the Asgaard Building.

Eric and I admire older homes in Forest City.

The Mansion Museum, built
in 1899, is a Greek Revival
style home.

Eric prefers the rounded
porch on this Queen Anne.

We enjoy our walk around downtown.  Our 2013 visit barely scratched the surface of this architecturally diverse small city.
