Our Drive East to Brimfield, Massachusetts

Eric and I often take secondary roads when we move from one area to another with our motorhome.  While planning our drive to Brimfield, Massachusetts, Eric checked the two routes on Google Maps...  The one that follows the New York State Thruway and the Massachusetts Turnpike and the route on secondary roads.

Because of mountains in western Massachusetts it would take four hours to drive east to Brimfield, Massachusetts on secondary roads.  Eric and I can drive on highways and the toll roads that we often avoid, and arrive at Brimfield in 2 and a half hours.  We agree that taking highways and toll roads and saving 1.5 hours of driving time is our most efficient use of time and diesel fuel.

Our drive starts at the
Interstate 88 &
Interstate 90 Interchange.

It's springtime along the

New York State Thruway

We drive along the Erie
Canalway National 
Heritage Corridor.

Eric continues to drive
east on US Route 20.

Brimfield is setting up for

their May Antique &

Collectibles Show.

Brimfield Massachusetts has been the Antique and Collectibles Capital of the United States since 1959.  Thousands of dealers are streaming in to set up for the six day event.  

Eric pulls into Adventure 
Resorts of America 
Sturbridge.

We will camp here for
three weeks & make
a few side trips.
