Driving Southeast to Wilmington, North Carolina

Eric and I leave Sycamore Lodge Resort under grey skies.

The Richmond County
Water Tower

Rockingham Dragway
is nearby.

We turn onto Interstate 74
& head east.

This solar panel array
stretches on & on....

A C-130 banks & sets an approach
up for landing at Simmons

We are traveling on the
Andrew Jackson Highway.

Native Americans want President Jackson's name removed from the highway because of his administration's forced eviction of Indians from their lands in the Southeast to "Indian Territories" west of the Mississippi River.

It doesn't look like anyone
has been hurt.

in Wilmington is now on
our list of places to visit.

sits on a siding.

This crew is cleaning up
after felling trees.

Water Tower peeps out
from a stand of trees.

There are a lot more
hard wood trees as
we approach the
North Carolina Coast.

As we cross the Cape Fear River,
I get pictures of the Wilmington
skyline.

We pass moored boats.

It's 3:00 pm & there's a
line of pink in the sky.

We've arrived at Wilmington
KOA in the suburbs
of Wilmington.

After we register for the
week, we are escorted to
our site.
