Enjoying the Wine & Cheese Pairing at The Saratoga Winery in Saratoga Springs, New York

Eric & I went to
The Saratoga Winery
for their Signature Wine
& Cheese Pairing.

Groupons are great!

Eric gets the door
for me.

The decor at The Saratoga
Winery is rustic.

Tables in the tasting room
are near racks of wine.

The Saratoga Winery is a destination.  Wines, beers, nonalcoholic drinks are available with lunches, dinners.  Thursday night is Trivia Night.  There's live music here.  The Saratoga Winery is also site for group events.

There's seating in an
adjacent room, with
the wine barrels.

About our visit here...  The Wine and Cheese Pairing...

The wines & cheeses have
been pre-selected
for us.

Mild, buttery Gruyere is balanced by the mellow fruit tones found in Whitney's White.  Asiagao is a strong, salty cheese that compliments the pineapple and citrus notes in the Semi Dry Riesling.  Rich, Smoked Gouda is paired with Pinot Noir's blackberry and smokey tones.  Creamy Fresh Mozzarella pairs well with Merlot's high tannins and bold fruits.  Sharp Cheddar is complimented by the bursting raspberry and cherry flavors of Rustic Red

Our Wine & Cheese Pairing
experience begins.

I now know that I love Gruyere.  The Asiago and Semi Dry Riesling pairing was surprising... the cheese is so robust and the wine so delicate.   This was a wonderful experience.

The Saratoga Winery has a Wine and Chocolate Pairing.  Eric and I want to return and sample the winery's pairings of two of our favorite things... red wine and chocolate.

What we brought home...

A bottle of Whitney's White,
a bottle of Rustic Red

We were given two wine
glasses to bring home.

Eric got two bottles of beer...
Shipyard Pumpkin Ale &
Ommegang Rare Vos.

Eric was delighted to bring home Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale.  Dave and Kathy recently wrote about Pumpkin Quads, reminding us that now is the time to explore seasonal beers.

Eric and I visited Ommegang Brewery years ago and he wanted to revisit and remember the Rare Vos.

We went to The Saratoga Winery for their cheese pairing and went home with so much more!
