A canoe decorated with
Christmas lights hangs
upside down over the bar.

The ornamental eagles that
attach the bar rail to the
bar are beautiful.

We sit & enjoy guitar &
harmonica music.

The moose antlers are
amazing.

The musician does a harmonica

cover the song's range.

The audience is on their feet, cheering him on.  This is a fun place to hang out, enjoy live music and talk with the locals.

The Drunken Goat Taverna in Dawson City, Yukon Territory

The extended wait to order dinner has given me enough time to work up a serious appetite.

Eric & I stopped at the
Drunken Goat Taverna.

The Drunken Goat Taverna is on the left side of the building.  It's been a long time since we've had Greek food.

We were offered a table for six, but chose to sit at the bar to leave the table available for a larger group.

It's time for drinks
& dinner.

Eric tried a Yukon Gold English
Style Pale Ale.

I didn't get a pic of my Malbec.

Pita took the edge off
my growing hunger.

Murals of musicians decorate
the walls....

I got the Lamb Pita Wrap

Eric got the Gyro Pita Wrap
Sandwich with Greek Salad.

The mural of Jimi Hendrix
is my favorite.

While chatting with our neighbors, we met Vicki.  She suggested we stop at the Westminster Hotel to check out where the locals go for a good time.  Vicki works at Diamond Tooth Gertie's.  She told us to ask for her when we visit and she'll buy us a drink.  We thanked her for recommending the Westminster Hotel and promised to say hello the following night when we visit Gold Tooth Gertie's.

Passing showers have muddied the streets.  Let's step inside for a drink, and some dinner.

It's 5:30 pm & the
Sourdough Saloon is quiet.

The Sourdough Bar has a large
selection of bottled beers,
 but no beer list.

The bartender opened all the
refrigerated cases for Eric so he
could see the beers & make
 his selection.

The piano player sits down

We got menus and made our choices for dinner.

While we wait, I take a few
more pictures.

Half an hour has passed without a server coming to take our order.  Our glasses are empty.  It's time to find dinner elsewhere.

Eric and I asked around and the Downtown Hotel currently a number of issues, including high staff turnover.

I LOVE this lavender house

Other than Front Street, all the other streets in Dawson City are dirt.  There are wooden sidewalks along most of the streets.  Hiking boots worked best for me.  I wore a pair of sneakers one rainy afternoon and they were a mess!
