The Boardwalk in Long Beach, Washington

Long Beach claims to be the
longest beach in the world.

Driving is allowed on
all 28 miles.

There are windbreaks
for the picnic tables.

Dune grass anchors the
dunes, providing protection
for the shoreline.

The boardwalk lines the
crest of the dunes.

The eight and a half mile long Discovery Trail parallels the boardwalk.  This is a great trail for biking.

The view from the
boardwalk.

Kites are very popular.

Whale bones remind
visitors of the coast's
fishing industry.
