Badwater Basin in Death Valley National Park








We are headed for
Badwater today.







The GPS shows that we are
at 261 feet below sea level.







Badwater is 282 feet
below sea level.





The Badwater salt flats cover 200 square miles at the base of Death Valley.

Yes, it's salt.




Badwater Basin is the largest protected salt flat in the world.

It's a beautiful day.

282 feet above the basin
on the side of the mountain.




The hottest temperature ever recorded in Death Valley was 134 degrees on July 10, 1913.
