We Visit Palm Canyon in Kofa National Wildlife Refuge with Dave & Kathy in Southwest Arizona

We are going to Palm Canyon
in Dave & Kathy's medium
duty truck.

It's a sweet ride!

Kofa National
Wildlife Refuge

I was told the best viewing hours for Palm Canyon is from 11 am to 1 pm.  Shadows crossing the canyon can obscure the trees early in the morning and later in the day.

Dave parks & we start our
hike to Palm Canyon.

Kathy leads the way.

The hike to Palm Canyon
is about half a mile long.

Kathy investigates a rock
overhang used by campers.

Dave & Eric get their first
look at Palm Canyon.

perhaps the only native palm
trees in Arizona.

Botanists theorize that these
palms are the descendants
of palms growing in this
region during the last
North American glacial age.

Kathy shared some hiking tips with me.  Descending was easier for me.  Thanks Kathy!

Dave & Kathy's truck
waits for our return.
