We Cause Confusion While Boondocking....

Eric picked an unmarked spot
off  Plomosa Road to boondock
when we arrived on January 2.

We expected other RVers to arrive, but we didn't expect confusion.

We fly the Smiley Face flag in
memory of Eric's dad,
Gordon "Frenchy" LaJuene.

Here's the Escapees
Solos emblem.

We are parked in the area
camp together.

The Solos Group is expecting sixty plus RVs.  This area is going to get crowded, so we decided to move the motorhome a couple of hundred yards away, to a more secluded area.

We continue to fly the
Smiley Face Flag.

I met Susie from Escapee Solos at the Escapees Happy Hour on Wednesday.  She recognized my last name and asked me if the rumor was true.  It's assumed by the group that Eric and I are Escapee Solos who met and recently married.  We moved away from the group for some privacy.

Late this afternoon, a woman knocked on our door looking for the lone camper and found the two of us. She had seen the Smiley Face flag and assumed that there was someone camping alone.  We had a good laugh about the misunderstanding.

We could change the flag to the American flag, but Eric prefers the Smiley Face flag.  We'll talk with people who come by and continue to assure them that we are not Escapee Solos.
