Lunch at Cookie's Mexican Restaurant in Mckinney, Texas

This is our last lunch in McKinney, Texas.  Locals we've talked to about Mexican food recommend Cookie's Mexican Restaurant.

This is a nondescript
building.

I think they should paint this
cute pepper on the front
of the building.

A cozy atmosphere
for lunch

There's extra seating
for take out customers.

Eric tells the owner that
EVERYONE recommends
Cookie's for authentic
Mexican food.

Plate

I chose Bistec Asado
(steak with caramalized onions)
served with beans, rice &
jalapeno peppers

The red sauce, very chili pepper..
The green sauce is very hot!

We were given shredded
Monterrey Cheese to add to
our meals.

Our lunches were fresh, flavorful.... De-lish!

We ordered a pastor
(pork) torta to go.

We had this later for dinner...
Muy bueno!

Eric and I prefer local eats and are happy to go to diners, cafes and restaurants that do not have perfectly bright and shiny exteriors.  Just like at Cookie's Mexican Restaurant, we are rewarded with delicious, reasonably priced foods served with pride.
