The Old State House Museum in Little Rock, Arkansas: Part One

The Old State House was
built between 1833 & 1846.

I chose to present three of the
historical topics displayed here.

The 1836 House of
Representatives shows
the original workings of
the Old State House.

Period furniture grace
parts of the building.

The grand staircase

A spinning wheel is part
of this room display.

A side staircase

A grand parlor

After government moved to the new State Capitol in 1911, this building became
a medical school.  In 1947 the Old State House became a museum.  It was placed
on the National Register of Historic Places in 1969.
