Attending the Bee Memorial at the Minnesota State Capitol in Saint Paul, Minnesota

Eric & I walked to the steps
of the Minnesota State Capitol,

We saw a sign with a
stuffed bee on it.

We went over to investigate &
 met Ro Reyburn, Keith &
Dawn Vorderbruggen &
Mark Vorderbruggen.

Dawn applied for a permit to hold a memorial for the over 25,000 bees that died recently in Wilsonville, Oregon after Target had  Linden trees sprayed with a pesticide.  The Oregon Department of Agriculture is testing the bees to determine the cause of this large die off.

In a show of solidarity, the
group is holding a Memorial
for the Wilsonville Bee Die Off,
 one of the largest documented

Educating others on the continuing losses to the bee population is important.  These insects pollinate the vast majority of  plants used for foods around the world.  We have to find a way to preserve bees as more and more food is grown to feed a hungry planet.
