Grocery Shopping At food Basic$ in Kingston, Ontario

Across the street from
LCBO is food Basic$.

This is a no frills

grocery store.

This store reminds me of 

ALDI & Save A Lot stores

in upstate New York.

There's not a lot 

of choice among specific

items, like ketchup.

The dairy selections
are OK.

Customers bring their own

bags, purchase grocery bags

or use one of the store's

 cast off boxes.

 We didn't find a few items we were looking for.... crab meat and kielbasa.  As we are used to shopping in supermarkets, where there's a large variety of selections, we made adjustments.  We bought chicken breasts cook for our dinner salads.  For the rally pot luck dinner, I chose a mixed dry beans mix and mild Italian Sausage to make Bean Stew with Italian Sausage.

 All of our groceries fit into one box.  With perishable items purchased, we headed back to Rideau Acres Campground.
