Casselman, Ontario

Our next stop is east
of Ottawa.

My great grandfather,
Damase Quenneville, owned
a farm in the Casselman area
in the late 1800s.

This is the second

The first was destroyed

I have to look elsewhere for information on Damase's farm.  The entire village of Casselman burned to the ground in 1897.

I found information on relatives in Un Peuple Autour de une Croix:  Centenaire de la Paroisse Sainte-Euphemie de Casselman 1886-1986 by Jean-Pierre Perrault at the library.  There's hours of translation ahead...

  1. The caption of Cassel Brewery is of their sign in front of the current and active train station and not their brewery. brewery at the time of your photo was at the back of the bowling alley.
