An Afternoon in Historic Watertown, New York

Watertown's Public Square Historic District is today's destination.

The grassy area of Public Square
statues include:

A memorial to those who
served in World War I
& World War II.

This fountain graces
Public Square

The tower of First Baptist Church
dominates the lower end of
Public Square.

This statue commemorates
 Postmaster of Watertown
from 1854-1860 &
New York State Governor
from  1891-1895.

Just down the street is
the Roswell P. Flower
Memorial Library.

We chose the best day to visit!
The Farmer's Market is open
on Wednesdays.

Beautifully restored
homes delight...

This grand old home is
now the D.L. Calarco

I like the tower & turret on
St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

This home with the
wrap around porch
is my favorite.

Ashbury Methodist
Episcopal Church
was built in 1912.

We enjoyed our walk on this sunny Wednesday.  I appreciate the community's efforts to preserve it's past for future generations.
