Roadside Discoveries Along the Blue Ridge Parkway in NC

As our tour of the Blue Ridge
Parkway continues, we
see interesting rock formations.

There are ribbons of snow
left over from last week's storm.

We got out of the car to stretch
our legs at Flat Top Manor
a beautiful 20 room mansion
built by entrepreneur
Moses Cone in 1901.

Flat Top Manor sits
above this mountain lake.
It houses an upscale
gift shop.

Pull over Fred!

I want to take pictures
of the roadside vehicles.

This collection has been carefully
placed behind a rail fence.

Just down the road from
"the rust garden" is this
beautifully painted antique
steam machine.
