Mayfel's in Asheville, North Carolina

College Street in Asheville has fun places to eat.  I appreciate the outdoor seating.  Being from upstate New York, the season for dining al fresco is a short one.... If the weather cooperates, May through September is a generous amount of time.

Mayfel's is named for the owner's grandmother, Mary Felonise.  While at boarding school, students teased her, chanting, "Mary fell on her knees!"  Mary shortened her name to Mayfel.

Travis from Stonebridge Campground recommended this restaurant.  Let's have a nosh and check out the cuisine.

Mayfel's has street side
patio seating &

Intimate dining behind
the restaurant.

Eric & I each ate a cup of
Gumbo.
This like all Mayfel's dishes
is made from scratch.

Chardonnay for me &
a Bell's Oberon Ale for Eric.

We've had a great day walking around Asheville and sampling local restaurant fare.  Eric discovered new beers and ales and is using his app to rate them for future reference.
