There Be Horses Here at Paul M. Grist State Park

Eric and I had our pick of camp sites at Paul M. Grist State Park and were just settling in when a fifth wheel type of camper pulled in.  It was short for a fifth wheel.  It had small windows at the rear.  We thought it might by a toy box fifth wheel.  The back of the rig was opened up and horses were brought out.  Eric and are long time campers and have enjoyed New York State Parks for many years, but have never seen horses being off loaded at a campground.

fifth wheel

There are horses two
campsites over!

Nibbling on hay lakeside.

Alabama State Parks welcome horses.  They advertise horse trails.
This is neat!

Jill VanSickle, right,
 owns Maggie.

Galena is a Paso Fino.  Maggie is a Tennessee Walker.  Patricia and Jill drove south from
Michigan for the first ever Alabama Competitive Mounted Orienteering Event.
It is being held here on Saturday and Sunday.
