A Visit to Union College in Schenectady, New York: Mid November


Union College in Schenectady, NY is one of my favorite places for a walk.









The college is celebrating
200 years in this spot.










A memorial to John Howard Payne,
author of the song, Home Sweet Home

This 16 sided building is
at the center of Campus.













 
Construction began in 1858
 and was completed in 1879.

Featured in a scene in
1973.








"The Nott" was designated
a National Landmark
in 1986.



 









It fell into disrepair and was
in danger of being demolished.
Restoration started in 1993.

Nott Memorial Hall is 
dedicated to Eliphalet Nott

He served as President of
Union College for 62 years.







The interior open space is
used for meetings,
performances,
art shows.

portrayed in the dome.
