Tuesday in Springfield, Oregon

The AM Solar Techs created a plan and reviewed the solar panel installation with Eric.  This is a big commitment for us and Eric had some questions.  After clarification of some areas, Eric and I were ready to leave our motor home to AM Solar's expert team.

What to do?  Off we go to the Eugene Cascades & Coast Visitors Center.  Eric and I got a detailed map on Springfield.  I was amazed with the size of this Visitors Center.  My experience in New York State is that Visitors Centers are housed in shed sized structures with one person in attendance.  I asked one of the two employees about the amazing size of the Visitors Center and was told that it publicizes for all of Lane County.  The space is also used for events.  Besides walls and walls of maps and brochures, this Visitors Center merchandise for sale.

Oregon is proud of its breweries and there's an assortment of beers available for purchase.

Check out this handbag!  It has wire cable handles,
possibly from Home Depot.

While reorganizing storage areas in my living room and kitchen, I filled a bag with items Eric and I haven't used since we moved into our motor home in mid April.  I found a Goodwill and donated them.  I hope my things will be useful to others.
Beer is big in Oregon.  Off to Hop Valley Brewing Company.  Trevor is happy to recommend award winning beers for us.  I ordered the Double D Blonde.  This is a very light crisp beer...  one that a non beer drinker can enjoy.  Eric ordered Alpha Centauri Binary IPA.  This beer has more body.  Hops is the first flavor noticed and it's on the bitter side.

Lunch....

Bratwurst and Kale Soup

A Cuban with French Fries.....
a Medianoche is what we we call it in our house.

It's time to investigate one of the walking paths Deb told us about yesterday.  We drove to Sacred Heart Medical Center and explored the Lyle Hatfield Riverside Trail.

I've never seen a walking trail
with lighting before.

This is a very peaceful place.
We found a family eating lunch together.

Plaque commemorating
Lyle Hatfield.

This is a non smoking area and
there is a place to deposit cigarette butts.

This is a huge tree!

Just us and the super big tree.

There are parking spots for RVS at this hospital
with electrical hookups.

Eric has read about this type
of accommodation for RVers at hospitals.
It's great to see this for ourselves.

Rather than pay for man hour costs
to clean up the work area enough for us to
stay in the motor home tonight, we got
a room at the Village Inn.

Thanks for the AM Solar Discount!

The room was comfortable
and clean.
Motel pillows aren't the best,
but that's an industry standard.

Deb recommended Cafe Yumm!  Excellent choice!  Eric and I had the Secret Asian Man Salad and split a bowl of Cheesy Potato Soup.  We both said YUM!
