Our Day in Lincoln, Nebraska

Eric and I drove down
gravel roads towards Lincoln.

The Nebraska State Capitol is seen from far and wide.  It's 400 feet tall.

This is the third Capitol
on this site in Lincoln.

Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue of New York produced the winning design for this building.  The current Capitol was built in four phases over ten years.  It came in under budget at 9.8 million dollars, within the ten million dollar budget.

Our Tour Guide, Gloria, loves sharing the building with visitors.  Dave and Kathy Bacon of Escondido, CA joined Eric and me for an hour long tour.

The State Capitol is open seven days a week and the times of the tours are listed.

There are beautiful

The Norris
Legislative Chamber

Nebraska has the only
Unicameral Legislature
on the state level.

Gloria explains how
 Supreme Court Judges
are appointed & later
elected.

The Capitol has
four interior courtyards.

The building includes two
Halls of Fame.

 Red Cloud is one of
those honored.

Eric & I had lunch at

Bhupinder, owner of the

Spinach Naan.  It was amazing!
