Visiting Friends in Atlanta, Georgia

Our friend, Jim takes Eric &
 I to the Crazy Cuban.

This is the place to go in Atlanta
for Cuban Sandwiches.

We get Plantain Chips to go with our sandwiches.

I like the eclectic mix of
artwork here.

Ole!

Jim & Eric went to High School
together.

They "pun it up" & reminisce;
I listen & laugh...

Los Cubanos es muy buenos!

Eric & I join Jim & Gina
for Imagine Picasso The

Our selfie with Pablo Picasso

This is the first Immersive Exhibit Eric and I have attended.  I'm grateful for the brief Picasso biography and the small-scale displays of the paintings that we will see in the large exhibit room.   The artist's evolving philosophy of art and European upheavals influenced Picasso's 70-plus-year career.

At the end of the introductory section, I am ready to experience Pablo Picasso's paintings on a large scale.

I struggle to identify every one of the paintings I am sharing.

Cubism, anyone...

Is this face sinister, or knowing?

The four of us wander the large space.  Eventually, we meet and head for the exit.

Jim pauses to catch Pablo's
cigarette ash.

We drive to Fox Brothers BBQ for dinner...

Jim & Gina introduced us to
the Brothers' amazing food
in 2017.

Each time Eric & I visit we
ask to return to Fox Brothers.

There are so many choices. Here's mine...

I love visiting Jim and Gina.  Our conversations are far-ranging and fun!  Too soon, it's time to say goodbye.  Until our next visit...

Our Drive Northeast to Norcross, Georgia & Our Detour

Eric found a small visitor
in our utility box when
 unplugged our motorhome at

Eric works quietly so he won't
disturb our small friend.

This could be a Squirrel

Today's drive starts on Mississippi

It's a beautiful day for a drive.

Both halves of a manufactured
home in transit.

A man in a grey truck honked at us and pointed toward our RV.  Eric pulls off the highway, onto the road shoulder.

The driver's side rear tire on
our car had a blowout.

Eric and I are grateful that a driver honked & pointed at us.  We didn't feel anything when the tire blew out and now hope that the rim wasn't damaged.

I attach orange flags to our
bike rack to signal that we
have broken down.

We wait for Roadside Assistance.

The rim has not been damaged.  Our spare "doughnut" tire is installed.  Now we need a tire store with our size tires in stock.

in nearby Bessemer has
the tire we need.

Eric thanks our Techs, and pays our bill.  We hitch our tow car to the motorhome and return to Interstate 59 North.

We follow Interstate 59
toward Birmingham.

Eric takes pictures while I drive.

Interstate 20 East takes
us toward Atlanta.

Eric & I encounter stop & go
traffic as we near Atlanta.

I'm sure this accident is the
cause of slowed traffic.

Exit 102 takes us to
Beaver Ruin Road.

I am curious about this Church

Eric & I arrive at Jones RV Park.

We have electric service with
good voltage, water &
sewer connections.
