Lunch @ The Garden Cafe in Downtown Yuma, Arizona

Eric & I are in Downtown Yuma
for an early lunch at The
Garden Cafe.

Eric takes a picture of
me with our Spiced
Iced Teas.

There is seating on several
levels here.

Eric's looking dapper
today...

The tables started to fill with diners as we looked over our menus.

Eric chose Vegetable Quiche,
made with Mushrooms, Spinach
& two kinds of Cheese, a Slice
of Fruit Bread with Fresh Fruit.

He also ordered Tortilla Soup.

I ordered a bowl of Tortilla
Soup & a half of a Chicken
Sandwich on Sourdough
Bread.

Eric shared some of his Quiche, Fruit Bread, and Fruit with me.

We shared a slice of
Chocolate "Killer" Cake
with pureed Raspberries.

And the verdict is...  Lunch was amazing!  Eric's Quiche was the best he's ever eaten.  The Fruit Bread was an interesting, tasty accompaniment, and the Fruit was oh, so fresh.  The Soup was the best clear broth Tortilla Soup I've ever had.  The Chicken Salad Sandwich was perfect.

The Chocolate "Killer" Cake with Raspberry Sauce stole the show.  The dense Soft Vanilla Frosting with Caramel was the perfect topping for the dense Cake.   Adding the tart, flavorful Raspberry Sauce was decadent...

We loved The Garden Cafe's food, atmosphere, and service.  Eric made reservations for Brunch to sample a fuller range of the Cafe's menu.   Now, we wait with anticipation...

1957 BMW Isetta 300 Cabriolet in Yuma's Ray Kroc Sports Complex Parking Lot

Timing is everything...  Eric and I left Midnight At The Oasis Car Show, got in our car, and started talking about the different Cars and Trucks we had just seen.  Then we saw it...  A tiny Car.  It may be smaller than the Smart Car.

Suprised & excited, I started taking pictures
of this unusual Car.

What kind of Car is this?
There is no passenger door.
Look, it has a tow hitch!

The Front Axle is longer than the Rear Axle.
At first, I thought there was one Rear Wheel.

I hope this unique car is on its way to a Show Field.  It must be seen by others.

My quick search revealed that this Car was manufactured by BMW from 1955 to 1962.  It's hard to place the year from the photos I have.  I believe it is a 1957 BMW Isetta 300 Cabriolet,  The front of the Car is its door.  It seats two people and has a one-cylinder engine.

This adorable little Car must have been used in movies and on TV.   I found a link on imdb.com with a list.  BMW Isetta Cars appear in English language films: The Naked Truth, 1957; Mickey One 1965; Problem Child 2, 1991; Bored Silly, 2000; Bounty Killer, 2013; and Zootopia, 2016.  It also appears in several foreign movies.  There are scenes on The Saint and Family Matters with this itty bitty Car.

Eric and I are glad that we left the Ray Kroc Baseball Complex when we did and got pictures of the 1957 Isetta 300 Cabriolet.  It is the most unusual Car we saw in Yuma.

Midnight @ The Oasis Car Show in Yuma, Arizona: Trucks

This one is displayed with
its hood down.

I appreciate getting a complete look at the Truck.

The hood has been removed so
people can see its modified
engine.

I like the decorative paint
on this 1955 Chevy 3100.

fringe decorating its roof.

This is just the early arrivals...  I'm sure more Trucks are on their way to Yuma.

Midnight @ The Oasis Car Show in Yuma, Arizona: Station Wagons

The owner is happy to sell it
for $60,000.00.

Whoever buys this Woody is
getting a well-preserved Car.

The has the same front end as
the '55 ChevyBel Air Sedan.

How many of you rode on the
floor of the "way back" of a
 Station Wagon without  a
seatbelt?

1957 Ford Ranch Wagon

The rear fin is scupted.

The bumper sticker says, "God
Bless Hondo Crouch."

He was the self-declared Mayor

Population: 3

Looking good, Eric!

At first, I thought this Willys was
a truck, like a Ford Bronco.

The internet corrected me.

1953 Ford Country Squire
Woody Wagon

TV Series for $40,000.00.

1956 Chevy Nomad

This Station Wagon needs Surf
Boards & Beach Towels to go
with its bright, playful colors.

The owner is selling a used
Engine part & a 1940s
Tot Stroller.

This is not a sedan.

The chrome on the rear fin
confirms this Station
Wagon's model name.

I notice the hinge on the floor of
the cargo area and wonder if this
a Third Seat option.

This is a nice selection of Station Wagons, and it's the first day of the three-day Midnight At The Oasis Car Show.  How many others in this category will Show and Shine?
